Online Blackjack is one of the most popular and famous online casino games. This is next to online poker of course. The game is played with 6 decks of cards by several players.
The rules are quite easy as well as the aim of the game that is to get a hand value that is closer to 21 than that of the dealer, without going over 21.
It is then essential to know the cards value before starting the game:
- A card from 2 to 10 has its face value.
- All face cards (Jacks, Queens, Kings) are given a value of 10.
- An Ace may have a value of either 1 or 11 to the player’s discretion.
Initially, each player is dealt 2 cards face up except for the dealer (croupier) who keeps his cards face down (the dealer hits until reaching 17 or more. In this last case, he has to stand as per the game rules).
In the second stage of the game the player has 2 options: keep on betting or stand ultimately. If the dealer has a lower card count than the player, he looses and has to pay the relevant amount to the winner. In the contrary case, it will be up to the player to pay the relevant sum to the dealer.
The winning combination in Blackjack is 21 (1 ace+ 1 face card). If the dealer gets Blackjack, each player has to pay the double of his/her bet. It is important to notice that the bank must stand on 17 or more and draw to 16.
If the player or the dealer exceed the 21 points, they loose their bet.
